Please find below details of the award and we heartily pass on our congratulations.
The Annual 2008 Building Awards was held on 1st April 2008 at the Grosvenor Hotel. This was a momentous occasion as Verry Construction won the Contractor of the Year 2008 Award, in the category of firms with a turnover of less than £200m. This is a prestigious award and one which is highly acclaimed in the construction industry.
This is a fantastic achievement and testament to our people and what we have accomplished in the last year. We thoroughly deserve this award and it is clear from, the quote below how much we stood out from our competitors.
"This firm more than any other on the shortlist for 2008, believes in investment. So, it has brought new offices with excellent working facilities; it has also invested in the education market, winning two big jobs: the £70m Oakland’s College and the £60m City of Westminster College. It has also entered the £60k House" Building Magazine.
The judges were impressed with the courage of our business strategy and by the quality of our work, noting the unique success of constructing both of the two UK buildings in the finals of the Stirling Prize. This particular category was far reaching in its judging criteria, including customer satisfaction, sustainability, partnering, health and safety, innovation, financial management, investment in the business, commitment to staff and training, corporate social responsibility. In addition, our well documented project success stories, particularly Savill Gardens, The Young Vic, Luton Butterfields, Kent PFI and the Kaleidoscope Building. The excellent achievement has only been possible through the hard work and dedication of everyone at Verry Construction.
